How to repair a tent zipper using ZlideOn

Slide the broken slider off one end of the tent zipper chain. If a stopper block is in the way, gently open it with a flat tool or needle-nose pliers to slide past — you don't need to remove the stopper entirely.

Clip onto the zipper chain
Position the open ZlideOn over the zipper teeth with the pull tab facing outward. If the tent zipper is open, cross the two sides of the chain slightly before attaching — this helps align the teeth. Fit the slider on the side of the zipper with the larger part of the stopper; on tent doors this is usually the bottom end.
Press to close
Press both sides of the ZlideOn firmly together until it clicks shut. The hinge snaps into place, locking the slider onto the chain.
Zip up to align
Pull the slider at least 10 cm on the first zip to seat the teeth correctly inside the new slider. If it feels stiff, keep going — it loosens as the teeth align.
Test the full length
Zip the full tent door or panel open and closed a couple of times. Your zipper should now run smoothly along the whole track.
Important things to remember
ZlideOn repairs the slider — not the zipper chain itself. Before you start, take a quick look at the teeth and the fabric tape: if the teeth are broken or the tape is torn, the zipper may unfortunately be beyond a slider fix. In the vast majority of cases, though, the slider is the problem, and a replacement is all it takes.
Getting the size right matters. Check the number printed on the back of your old slider or measure the width of the zipper teeth before ordering. If you're unsure, a multipack covers the most common sizes and is a safe choice. Also note that waterproof or taped-seam tent zippers need a ZlideOn made specifically for waterproof zippers — a standard slider won't seal correctly.
When fitting the new slider, always attach it on the side of the zipper with the larger part of the stopper. And if the zipper skips or doesn't close cleanly after the first 10 cm, don't force it — simply open the slider, check that both rows of teeth are fully seated inside, and press it closed again.
